N2  - 2007 marcó el 20 aniversario de la Comisión que informe GHBrundtland abrió un nuevo camino al abordar la cuestión del desarrollo sostenible como un medio de evitar una catástrofe ecológica. Esto dio lugar a una multitud de declaraciones políticas, documentos y artículos científicos, mientras que el Programa 21 - adoptada en 1992 en Río de Janeiro - ha sido aceptada por los gobiernos de más de 100 países. Tristemente, sin embargo, esto no ha impedido que ciertas tendencias peligrosas recientes, ni tiene el público en general, los periodistas, los círculos empresariales o políticos comprendido la urgencia del problema.
